It’s been a foggy morning here. If there has to be a two hour delay for school I guess I’d rather have it for fog than snow. The fog is a bit easier to shovel. All the fog does is make it harder to see well. Fog only limits visibility.
I wonder if sin tends to have the same type of effect. I find that sin causes me to lose sight of who I really am. I was not created for sin. Instead, God placed his Image within me. Since clouds that image.
St. John of the Cross talks about a window that is so dirty that it doesn’t let light through. The light is there, but clouded by the dirt.
Perhaps at its core sin causes me to loose sight of the light of God within me. It cuts my visibility in seeing the beautiful image that has been placed within me.
