I’m getting ready to go on an Emmaus Weekend. Just wanted to post a few ramblings before I go. I’ve been finding other people who are seeing the value of allowing others to use their ideas for free. In our culture what we like to do is take our good ideas and market them, have conferences, seminars etc. At that point, we become salespeople. Not for the gospel really, but for something else. Churches then must use monies that come from members (and others) to purchase these items to hopefully help their church. Sometimes the items help, sometimes not.

What is refreshing to see is that some have decided that since God gave them the idea, they would pass it along. Wow. What a concept. I’m really tired of seeing churches charge so others can download and listen/read sermons. I’m tired of seeing churches charge for items that could very well help other churches grow. It just feels like we are doing a dis-service when we allow the marketing ways of the culture we live in dictate how we spread the ideas that God has given us…
